Following the Red River with Field Walsh from TXK Today

Photos by Jeff Easterling
So, I called Field Walsh from TXK Today and asked if he wanted to get some footage of the Red River at a couple of sites, and he grabbed his gear and off we went. We got some great shots and video.

When I called Walsh he was out with law enforcement officers in Bowie County checking levees and evacuated areas, so I met him at the TXK Today office on Cowhorn Creek.

The first place we went was out to the Hannibal's place in Miller County. They, along with family and friends built a levee around their farmhouse. They are in the dry, and with the river expected to crest just a little bit higher than it is now, feelings are strong that the family will make it through okay. We then went over to the Hempstead County side of the Red River in Fulton. Field has an awesome camera on a drone, and gets some really great footage.

Field Walsh is the CEO and Founder of TXK Today and is always listening to the scanner and seems to always be in constant contact with what is happening in Texarkana. He has grown TXKtoday.com into one of the most credible news sources in the Ark-La-Tex. He understands how to tell the story in a way that newspapers and old school journalist will never understand. We have been working together back and forth sharing info, leads and stories, since the beginning of his company and it was a great treat getting to go out and gather some news with him, and get to know him a little better. He's young, bright, and really seems to have a passion for journalism. So, what began with following police and fire scanners, has really grown into a fantastic news source with a dedication to quick and accurate information. I know that when I am looking for the latest news in Texarkana, TXKToday.com is the first place I look.
