If flying some really cool remote control planes sounds like something you would enjoy, look into joining the Texarkana Radio Controlled Flying Club.
R/C Pilots from all over the country bring some of their amazing aircraft to Texarkana to participate in the event, now in it's 25th year.
There is a $25 fee to land your plane and fly during the event, but spectators get to enjoy the action free of charge.
Thursday, Friday and Sunday you will see all sorts of planes and R/C Aircraft, but Saturday is reserved for 80" single wings, 50" bi-planes, and everybody's favorites the 140" or larger jet aircraft. Flying begins each day around 9 a.m. and lasts thru the day. There will even be some night flying as some aircraft are equipped with lights.
Ravel Stroman Field is located at Lake Wright Patman, below the dam... Just look for the BIG BIRDS!
