Local Waitress Gets Fired by Text and Public Responds

via Facebook
A waitress at a local restaurant was recently fired by text, and posted it on the Facebook group "Texarkana Cheers & Jeers" and the public sounded off!

The poster maintains that it was in retaliation for the young lady working a second job at a competitor to the establishment. Which would seem unreasonable since many in the industry rely on multiple part time positions to equal full time pay

After posting a screen cap of the text, the public responded with negative and positive comments regarding the restaurant, and the staff. However, many responded on the reason of the post, not as much being fired from the job, but in the way it was done... by text. Management or owners of the staff have not responded, good or bad.

One comment stated that it was illegal to do this, but most agreed that it was at the very least extremely unprofessional.

The group "Texarkana Cheers & Jeers" is intended for the public to share their experiences at local businesses, and these local businesses to have real and personal communication with their guests, clients, or what have you. The majority of the posts are positive. Cheers are always fun to post. There are so many that try so hard to only be proud of themselves and it is nice to give someone credit for a job well done. There have been Jeers that have turned a dissatisfied person into respected regular customers. It is a group that gives local businesses the opportunity to prove how customer service is what makes good business regardless of the industry.
