Putting the Caboose in Front Street Plaza in Time for Railfest

Folks have been hard at work downtown today, moving an old Union Pacific Caboose into place in Front Street Plaza in time for Railfest 2015 Saturday May 16 in downtown Texarkana.

Cleve Batte Construction, and Keith Smith House Movers donated their time and services to move the caboose from the railyard and place it on the special tracks laid for it in Front Street Plaza. It may not be accessible during this year's festival, but it is a lot closer to being done.

The caboose was donated by Union Pacific and it is planned to be used for different Front Street fuctions, Ticket Sales, Souvenirs, or what not. It is expected that once the car is fixed up it will be a great attraction for tourists, and local photographers.

If you would like to donate some time or materials to get the caboose finished, I am sure the folks at the city would love to hear from you.
