The Texarkana Texas City Council took an opportunity to see what is in the Kress Building downtown, facing a decision of whether to demolish the building for $300,000 or try to save the building at 116 W. Broad Street.
Here are some pics from earlier this evening...

What do you think?
We restore buildings worse than this. This building looks to have great structure. The 300k demo price is the city getting a bit of a high bid. Clean it out and get a developer to turn it into something great. Once demolished you lose more of your downtown. Kind of like the Grim and Sari. Don't destroy your downtown and now Texas has tax credits for historic buildings which are not available for a new build. Save your history!
